Refrigeration systems that have had service performed with the system open to the atmosphere must be evacuated and dehydrated to remove air and moisture that may have entered during service. In addition, systems that have been open to the atmosphere for an extended period may require multiple evacuations to be sure all air and moisture are removed.
Refrigeration systems that have had major service or repairs, and systems suspected of having air, moisture, or foreign particle contamination, must follow procedures outlined in TK 40229, “Clean-up of Refrigeration Systems with Thermo King Compressors,” and TK 40612, “Evacuation Station Operation and Field Application.”
