Purpose: To test the condenser check valve, the condenser side of the 3-way valve and the condenser pressure bypass check valve on units with heat and defrost complaints.
Preparing the Unit
1. Warm the engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Verify the unit has a full refrigerant charge.
3. Install a calibrated gauge manifold on the compressor.
4. Verify the unit has the proper throttling valve setting.
5. Be absolutely sure the receiver tank outlet valve (RTOV) is back seated. Failure to back seat the RTOV may result in severe personal injury!
6. Install a high pressure gauge on the receiver tank outlet valve.
