  1. Gather the necessary tools and supplies: Before starting the service, make sure you have the following tools and supplies:
  • Torx bits or Torx driver
  • 7/16 wrench and socket ratchet
  • Clean fuel
  • Two gallons of oil
  • Filter kit (including secondary fuel filter, engineer filter, and cabin air filter)
  1. Accessing the TriPac APU: To access the TriPac APU, remove the panels and shroud covering the unit. These panels can be removed using the Torx bits or Torx driver. Once the panels are removed, you will have clear access to the APU for servicing.
  2. Changing the filters: The TriPac APU requires regular filter changes to maintain its efficiency. Use the filter kit to replace the secondary fuel filter, engineer filter, and cabin air filter. These filters can be easily replaced by following the manufacturer’s instructions provided with the filter kit.
  3. Checking and filling the oil: Check the oil level in the TriPac APU and ensure it is within the recommended range. If the oil level is low, add the required amount of oil. Typically, two gallons of oil are sufficient for the TriPac APU. Use a clean funnel to pour the oil into the designated oil fill port.
  4. Fuel filter maintenance: The TriPac APU has a primary fuel filter located at the back. While this filter does not require frequent changes, it is essential to inspect it regularly for any signs of clogging or damage. If necessary, clean or replace the primary fuel filter according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Reassembling the unit: Once you have completed the necessary servicing tasks, reassemble the TriPac APU by placing the panels and shroud back in their original positions. Ensure that all screws and fasteners are securely tightened.
