Circuit breakers are used for protection on circuits that draw increased amounts of amperage during normal operation, such as the blower motor. Circuit breakers are available in two styles: automatically resetting and manually resetting. When the bimetallic strip heats up due to increased current flow, the circuit breaker moves to open the circuit. Automatic circuit breakers cool down and then reconnect the power to the circuit. Manual resetting circuit breakers have to be manually pressed to reconnect the power to the circuit.
